The story behind UUCPssh

UUCPssh officially exists since 2002. Fabien Penso and Yann Hirou launched it at first as a UUCP over SSH hosting solution only. It used to be hosted close to LinuxFr but is now taking its own way. The dedicated server has been given by HP and is currently hosted on the kazar network. It uses RAID5 and remote daily backup. Another server should be added later with complete redundancy.

Today, UUCPssh focus on antispam solutions, UUCP over SSH hosting and Transparent MX. We believe you should not worry about viruses and SPAMs anymore. The daily work is done by Fabien (who always seek for jobs).

We currently host 389 domains.

Technical details

We use different way to filter SPAMs. We think you should be aware of some of our rules.

We use postfix and policyd as a greylist daemon. We also use mailscanner with the antivirus clamav and DCC, razor and pyzor. At the Postfix level, we use the following RBLs: relays.ordb.org, list.dsbl.org, sbl-xbl.spamhaus.org, dnsbl.sorbs.net, dnsbl.ahbl.org, rhsbl.ahbl.org, and block.rhs.mailpolice.com.

The hardware behind UUCPssh is a dual Pentium III HP server running virtual servers. We have a weekly and daily remote backup in case of failure. We also use RAID5 hardware SCSI disks to prevent hardware failure. The server has been given by HP, thanks to them!

We are hosted within the Kazar datacenter, next to Xname.

Who is UUCPssh for?

This service is provided as it is for private individuals and small companies (smaller than 5 employees). Larger companies must get in touch with us before using UUCPssh. We are able to provide the service to everyone, but we want to discuss details with larger companies.
